Welcome to this week’s FOS|LTC Weekly News—your update on everything happening around the club. It’s been great to see so many members enjoying all aspects of club life, whether on the tennis and squash courts, out on the croquet lawn, in the gym, or taking part in classes and social events.

As we head into a busy and exciting part of the season, there’s plenty to look forward to. With the grass courts now open, our Do or Dice Tournament just around the corner, and the Summer Open Day fast approaching—alongside league matches and a full calendar of social events—there’s something for everyone, so be sure to read on and get involved.

We’re also pleased to share some good news from the bar, with prices set to remain unchanged for the coming year following a new supplier arrangement—great value for members to enjoy with friends and family.

A quick reminder that all tennis courts must be booked in advance through the club’s booking system to ensure fair access for everyone during this busy period.

Do or Dice Tournament

To celebrate the opening of our Grass courts this year, we are holding our Do or Dice tournament on Saturday, 9th May. The most unpredictable, exhilarating and strategy-shaking singles tennis tournament! Spaces are limited, to sign-up please click HERE.

FOSLTC Summer Open Day | Saturday 16th May 2026

It’s not long to go now until our Summer Open Day on Saturday 16th May, 11 am – 4 pm. You, as our members, can benefit by helping build our community. If you bring down a family member or friend, and they sign up on the day, you both get £30 on your swipe card! We’ve got plenty of taster sessions and activities going on, to see more head HERE.

Colchester and District 2026 League

This week we’ve held 2 home matches.

On Monday, our Men’s C played Wivenhoe. FOSLTC won with a 6-3 victory!

And yesterday our Men’s C played Spring Lane B. Unfortunately, a 9-0 loss for FOSLTC.

Next week we’ve got 5 matches!

Thursday Night Tennis Social

Our Thursday Night Social Tennis Sessions are back! Thank you to those who have been getting involved and coming down!

Join us every Thursday from 6.00 pm to 7.30 pm for an extra social session to add to your weekly hit. Whether you’re looking for some friendly competition, a great workout, or simply a fun evening at the club, this is the perfect way to enjoy more time on court.

Players of all standards are warmly welcome — the more the merrier for some fun social doubles, followed by a well-earned drink in the bar afterwards.

Laver Cup Pre-sales

We’ve once again entered the club into the pre-sale opportunity for Laver Cup tickets, which takes place from 25th to 27th September. The last pre-sale was for the full tournament packages; this time, it’s for individual session tickets, making them much more flexible to purchase. Our Pre-sale window is on Thursday, 14th May, 10.00 – 23.59. We’ll communicate with members once we have further information and the pre-sale link.

Great News at the Bar – Prices Held for Another Year!

Many of you will have noticed that bar prices across the hospitality sector have risen significantly over the past 12 months. Meanwhile, your Club has been bucking this trend, with largely no increases and very competitive member prices.

We are excited to announce that, following a change of drinks supplier, we will continue this trend and hold our current bar prices for at least the next year. This allows us to continue offering great value while maintaining a high-quality selection behind the bar, making our offering to members both financially and mouth-wateringly attractive.

We have pulled out all the stops to achieve this further membership enhancement and to encourage you to pop down to the Club with friends and family for a drink. There will be no change to our beer, cider, spirit and soft drink offerings, and most of your favourite wines will still be on offer, albeit with some different labels.
