FOS|LTC Weekly News

After a glorious week of sunshine for the Grade 1, we now find ourselves with weather better suited to scuba diving than tennis. Thank goodness for the bubble keeping play going.

Despite the rain, there has still been plenty of tennis with some excellent results, including a bizarre 9–0 win without even stepping on court.

We are also very pleased to announce that NEETacademy has agreed to a new coaching contract, so there are officially no excuses for not getting on court and improving, whatever level of player you are.

Many members have been asking about the financing opportunity for the padel project and expressing interest, but only a small number of Expressions of Interest have been submitted so far. Please don’t leave it until the last moment; it’s all too easy to forget and miss the deadline.

We have also received several questions about revenue generation, project costs and expenditure. Those details will be shared with everyone before any investment decisions are made. For now, the purpose of the EOI is simply to gauge the level of interest across the membership. If you did not receive the documents, the Letter is available HERE, or the Expression of Interest is available HERE. Alternatively, please contact the office for a copy.

Rest assured that all submissions and the financing process remain confidential.

And finally, do take a moment to check below to see what is coming up. There are plenty of events on the horizon.

Colchester and District 2026 League

This week, the weather hasn’t been in our favour!

The Men’s B, which was due to go ahead, didn’t, and FOSLTC were given a walkover 9-0.

Thursday night, we had 2 matches lined up. Men’s D took on David Lloyd Club D. They were troupers and played through the rain and won 5-4!

And Men’s A were against Dedham A. Unfortunately, play was halted and couldn’t resume.

And tonight we have another 2 fab matches. Ladies C are up against Mersea Island B. and Men’s C are also at home to The Essex B.

Next week, our home matches resume with a full schedule!
