FOS|LTC Weekly News
It has been another brilliant week of tennis at the Club, with the British Tour giving us yet more high‑quality matches to enjoy and super courts to play on. While the tennis might be a touch slower than this week, the Club is not slowing down as we get ready to host the Masters tournament at the end of the month.
Huge congratulations to Pete, who has steered the Essex Boys U11s all the way to the national finals. A fantastic achievement!
A quick reminder for those in the Tennis Club Championships: qualifier rounds need to be completed before the close of business on Sunday. Scores and draws can be seen HERE. No excuses, no extensions, no “my dog ate my racquet”.
The Triangle Tournament kicks off next weekend, and we still need players for both tennis and croquet. Please get involved! It’s a great initiative and even better fun when we have strong Club representation.
Off court, the social calendar is buzzing, not least with the small matter of the World Cup. Mark has lined up some great promotions for England and Scotland matches, plus other big games, so bring your colours and your optimism.
It might be in August, but Tennis Week is already attracting a lot of interest. It’s shaping up to be a big one, so keep an eye out for updates.
And finally… the padel project. We have now received expressions of interest covering 75% of the required finance. Please keep the EOIs coming; more information will follow shortly.

FOSLTC Community Whatsapp
We are currently trialling a new Community WhatsApp group to help ensure members receive important updates when it matters most. You can join the group using the following link: https://chat.whatsapp.com/CqYmGib6okJCdKgRTCBXs6. While we already use a range of communication channels, we recognise that some members may still miss key information about what’s happening at the club. This group is intended to help bridge that gap.
