FOS|LTC Weekly News
We are heading into an exciting couple of months at the Club as we get ready to host the ITF Masters, bringing a full week of top‑level tennis and plenty for members to enjoy. All the details are set out below.
This week also gave us a brilliant reminder of what being a community club truly means. Hosting students from Market Field College for a full day of activity brought great energy to the Club and showed exactly why opening our doors matters.
That same spirit continues with the Frinton Triangle Tournament, which begins this Sunday. As the host venue this weekend, it’s important to bring the town’s sports clubs together and something we hope members will come along to support.
To help everyone stay connected with what’s happening, our new Community WhatsApp group is now live. It’s a simple way to make sure no one misses key updates, especially during such a busy period.
Alongside all this, the Club Championships, league fixtures, junior camps, World Cup evenings, Wimbledon plans and Tennis Week in August are all covered in the updates below.
Sports and Services!

There’s been plenty of activity this week!
It started on Tuesday with the Mixed D as home to The Essex C. Unfortunately, we couldn’t quite make it, and the Essex won 8-1.
Mixed B were also away to Spring Lane A, and unfortunately, another loss for FOSLTC, 7-2.
The tide, however, turned on Wednesday with Men’s A away to Dedham A. FOSLTC took the win 9-0!
And last night, Mixed C were at home to Spring Lane B. The score was 6-3 to Spring Lane.
And Tonight, our Ladies A are away to Spring Lane A. Good Luck!
Next week, there are no home matches due to the ITF Masters Tournament.
Friday 3rd July – Ladies C are away to Kirby B for their last game of the season
Friday 3rd July – Men’s C are also away to Dedham B.
Market Fields College Sports Taster Day!
We were delighted to host 15 students from Market Field College last week, giving them the chance to experience squash, tennis and pickleball across a full and energetic day. Their enthusiasm was infectious with a brilliant mix of fun, curiosity and a little healthy competition. The feedback from the school was fantastic.
It was also a genuine pleasure to welcome such polite, well‑mannered young people to the Club; they were a credit to their college and contributed enormously to the positive atmosphere of the day. This was exactly the kind of activity that puts the community into our Club. As a Community Amateur Sports Club, we are open to everyone, and days like this show what that really means in practice.
A huge thank you to Alan and Gavin, Jon and Chris, and Charlie for volunteering their time and expertise to create an experience we hope the students will remember for a long time. The day simply wouldn’t have been the success it was without Rebecca’s superb organisation and the excellent buffet provided by Liam, At Your Place Catering.
Dogs at the Club
While we love seeing your furry four-legged companions, we'd like to remind everyone that dogs are only permitted in the outdoor areas of the clubhouse. Dogs are not allowed inside the clubhouse unless they are registered as guidance or assistance dogs.
