The Club Championships are now well underway, and a reminder to all players that Round 1 must be completed by 12 July. There are no extensions, so please ensure your matches are arranged and played without delay.

Wimbledon Whites takes place this Sunday, and it’s shaping up to be a fantastic day. Sign-ups are open, so dust off your whites and join us for quintessential afternoon tea and Pimms at excellent prices during the Men’s final. 

Our FOS Pickleball team delivered a strong performance this week, securing an impressive 18–10 win against Wivenhoe.

We are pleased to confirm that we have reached our Expression of Interest target of £200,000 for the Padel Project. A full Q&A will follow, and work is already progressing across each project area to maintain momentum.

Tennis Week is approaching quickly, with a full programme of events and activities. Please take a moment to review what’s planned and get involved where you can.

Last week the World Tour brought superb weather and some outstanding tennis to the club. Congratulations to our five players who entered, and a special mention to Rich Williams for winning the consolation cup. With over 170 entries from 19 countries, it was a truly international event.

Finally, a reminder to all tennis members: please ensure courts are booked before playing, and while the weather might be hot, flip-flops and bare feet are not permitted on court.

ITF Masters Tournament – Monday 29th June – Saturday 4th July

Last week was a great week as we hosted the ITF masters tournament. Well done to all players, including our club members. It was a fabulous week; the weather was beautiful, and the club was busy!

We next look to our penultimate tournament, which is County week, Monday 20th July – Friday 24th July.

Croquet Match!

On Saturday, our Croquet team welcomed Newport to the club in league. They took the victory 3-1, securing their place at the top of the table! Well done to all who played: Bruce Freeman, Richard Everett, Gary Brice, Fiona McCroig.

Frinton Triangle Tournament 2026

Thankyou to all members who played the triangle tournament cricket leg on Sunday. Well done to the Cricket club for taking the win!  

We now head to the Golf club on Sunday 26th July for the final leg. We’re still on the lookout for 1 more player! Please email tennis@fosltc.com or pop your name down on the board.

It’s the ladies' final tomorrow from 4 pm. There’ll be Pimm’s specials and strawberries and cream on offer.

Then we turn to the finale with the Men’s Final on Sunday, 12th July from 4 pm. Firstly, we have our annual Wimbledon whites tournament from 12 pm, entry is still open and available HERE.
