We have got another fantastic week of tennis ahead as County Week arrives. The weather is looking great too, so what better place is there to be than at the Club.

Last Sunday saw our annual Wimbledon Whites tournament take centre stage, followed by a superb afternoon tea; a big thank you to our bar team for making it such a treat. Congratulations as well to Charlie, who came out on top after four rounds of hard‑fought tennis.

The Club Championships have now reached the Quarter-Final stage, so please make sure to arrange your matches promptly to avoid any last‑minute disputes or coin tosses.

And with Tennis Week only a few weeks away, now is the perfect time to check the schedule and secure your places.

A few weeks back we promised a Q&A section on the Padel Project. Lots of you have been asking what’s happening, what’s planned and how it all fits into club life. Please click on the link HERE for the Q&A. Hopefully it gives you a clearer picture of where things are heading.

FOSLTC Club Championships 2026

Thankyou to all those who completed their matches by 12th July. We’re getting closer now to finding out who will be playing in our finals day on Saturday 5th September!

The next round of matches needs to be played by 2nd August. Please organise, and if you need any players' contact details, please contact the office.

County Week, Monday 20th July – Friday 24th July

Next week we host our penultimate tournament with County Week. This year we are hosting a Grade 7 Ladies event welcoming teams from Devon, Oxfordshire, Cumbria, Isle of Man, Channel Islands, Bedfordshire, South of Scotland & Shropshire. Play starts on Monday from 10 am.

The bar will be open as usual, and the poolside will be open each day from midday. Good Luck to all involved!

Swimming Pool News

We regret to inform you that all pool sessions from 2pm on Saturday through to the end of Sunday have been cancelled. Despite contacting all available lifeguards, former staff, and Beach Patrol, we have been unable to secure qualified cover for these times.

As you will appreciate, we cannot operate the pool without appropriate supervision, and safety must come first. Although we explored every possible alternative, we are not able to run sessions using parental waivers. Even with signed disclaimers, the club would still retain a legal duty of care, and operating without qualified lifeguards would not meet required safety standards. For these reasons, waivers cannot be used as a workaround.

The affected sessions have been removed from the booking system, and no further bookings can be made.

Thank you for your understanding, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Colchester & District League

We’ve had 5 matches this week, with only 5 weeks left of the league to go….

We started on Monday with 2 matches. Men’s A were away at the Colchester Officers Club. The score was 9-0 to FOSLTC! And Men's D were at home to Mersea Island. The score was 1-8 to Mersea.

On Tuesday, our Ladies B were at home to Lexden Hill A. The score was 0-9 to Lexden Hill.

And last night our Ladies A were at home to the Essex A. The score was 4-5 to The Essex. And our Men’s D were away at Kirby. The Score was 7-2 to FOSLTC.

Next week, there’s only 1 home match due to the County Week Tournament.

Junior Tennis

Looking for some extra tennis this summer?

We're running a Junior Fun Tournament on Wednesday 22nd July, 1.00 pm–3.30 pm.

The afternoon is open to all rallying players and is a great opportunity to enjoy plenty of match play, meet other players and put your skills into practice in a fun, relaxed environment.

Junior Triangle Tournament 2026

We're delighted to announce the first-ever Junior Triangle Tournament this summer!

Following the same exciting format as the adult competition, junior players will compete across Golf, Tennis and Cricket in one action-packed day on Sunday 16th August.

Event Schedule

9:00 am – Tee off at the Golf Club
Lunchtime – Tennis at Frinton-On-Sea Lawn Tennis Club
Afternoon – Finish the day at the Cricket Club

The tournament is open to juniors aged 9–14, with each club entering a team of 8 players.

Every participant will receive a team polo shirt, with trophies and medals presented at the end of the day to celebrate the competition.

ENGLAND VS NORWAY

Thankyou to everyone who has come down during the tournament to watch all the matches.

Despite England's loss on Wednesday, they will be playing again tomorrow against France for 3rd Place at 10 pm. Then on Sunday we will be showing the final, Argentina vs Spain, kick off 8 pm!

Upcoming Croquet Events

Croquet has a fantastic line-up of events to round off the season!

On Saturday 1st August, Croquet will host a Vintage Tournament from 11:00am, celebrating the history of the 1910 Frinton Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club, as well as the 2026 New Lawn and six years at our present club.

Then, on Saturday 29th August, the spotlight turns to the Croquet Club Championship Finals Day, where the season's champions will be crowned.

Finally, on Saturday 5th September, members are invited to join the End of Season Celebration to mark another successful year of croquet.
