FOS|LTC Update
Tennis week has just ended - the most amazing four days of tennis and fun activities. We hope that everyone who participated or attended enjoyed themselves.
There are so many people to thank, from Julie and Clare, who ran the adult/junior tournament, NEETacademy for giving the juniors a fabulous tennis session on Thursday, At Your Place catering who provided a sensational array of food over the four days, and all the teams, juniors and members who participated. Mrs Moxon and Nicole Eatherton for cutting and serving all those delightful strawberries. And we cannot forget Tom, who has helped organise these 4 fabulous days.
Congratulations to Team James Max, whose team won the first Chairman’s Challenge, and to Team Green Robins for winning the Boodles Cup in a very tight match. Well done to Natalie and Freddie on winning the adult/junior tournament. Thanks to Bill (sponsored by Specsavers) and Di for their sharp-eyed officiating. Bill also doubled up under his alternative name of William to host a superb auction. Thank you to everyone who bid and secured the various lots.
These events are not possible without the generous contributions from the sponsors and those who donated prizes. This year we were pleased to have Boodles as our main sponsor, together with Clacton Pier Company, Green Robins, G&G Gallo and esign. A special thanks to Coastal Celebrations helping make Sunday a great family day with two bouncy castles and a slide on site.
In addition there was some exceptional musical talent on show over the week. Archie Playle demonstrated his exceptional skills on the keyboard at the Ball, while Scarlett Rose didn’t miss a beat on Sunday afternoon.
The auction featured generous contributions from Budweiser, Lawrence Knight, the LTA, the AELTC and James Max, while the raffle and other prizes included superb donations from The Lifehouse Spa & Hotel, Frinton Summer Theatre and the Halewood Artisanal Spirits Group, who provided Dead Man’s Fingers spicy rum and Whitley Neill gin. Plus all our prizes for our winning teams were kindly sponsored by Halewood Artisanal Spirits Group & SSP Energy Bars.
Mark and the bar team were, as ever, great. Maria and the servers (no pun intended) knocked the service (another almost-unintended pun) out of the park. We have reserved the best for last; we hope that everyone congratulates and thanks Rebecca for the concept and organisation of the inaugural tennis week. 10 out of 10 and next year we go for 11!!!!
Pictures of the various days can be viewed below.
